Remix OS Tablet Edition Review:

Remix OS Tablet Edition Review

what you're seeing right now is the remixOS. it is a rom based on Android and it's running the version 5.0.2. lollipop keep in mind this review will only focuson how this rom functions on the tablet using the nexus 9 a separate review forthe desktop is coming up next month so let's just get right into the reviewat the first glance it really just looks like another custom android rom, but weknow it isn't putting apps into folders and installing apps and the notificationpull down is basically the same thing.

but besides the other basic androidfunctions it is fundamentally different and itworks amazingly well in my opinion first of all is the normal interfaceit's not your ordinary launcher with an app drawer, whether you like it or notwhat this added desktop like interface you don't have to be techy to realizehow different the navigation bar looks compared to normal it's extremely similar to windows 10 forthe looks and the functionality and I actually really enjoyed that switchingbetween apps is fast you can pin apps on the navigation bar and itdoesn't pop up whenever you're changing volume when playing a game in full-screen areally cool part about this rom is that you can open apps phone mode and resize.

them if you enable that feature in the experimental settings an ironic thingabout this feature is that none of the built-in app support this except for thecalculator but keep in mind this rom is still in beta meaning we could see some hugeimprovements in the future the best part about this room in myopinion is how crazy good ram management is no matter how many apps i have opened itnever really slow down how smooth everything runs is way better on thisrom then stock android and that really surprised me first time ever I never thought aboutchanging the launcher or doing any customization to make the rom performbetter there's a built-in memory cleaner on thebottom right corner but all it does is closed all the apps open this is greatbecause it's not like clean master that kills everything running which ishorrible for the battery.

life because all the core functions have to restartagain my point is only frees necessarymemory that won't affect the battery life at all speaking of battery life it hasimproved from stock android and I get around twenty to thirty percent morebattery life every day and I guess it has to do with the really good rammanagement this rom is in beta but in my opinionit's way more refined the stock android that is because they rethought howtablets should work and did it right stock android or any other tablet OShasn't really figure out how tablet interface should work in my opinion it'smostly scaled-up version of the phone interface but with that said let's go overthe flaws of this rom you can't use NFC you can't attach astorage device using.

OTG some occasional bugs and the stock apps again keep inmind that this room is in beta and I'm only talking about the flaws that's onthe nexus 9 for the stock apps i think they shouldbe more refined the file manager manages files poorly and the Notes app isliterally the copy of google keep but the amazing thing is that was only flawsi could basically find and that's extremely good for beta rom even better is when you have a keyboardand the mouse connected it really shows how this desktop style can come in handy this is how I set up for mine connect mybluetooth keyboard to the tablet and plug the USB adapter with an OTG cableto my nexus 9 that connects to my mouse this significantly expands the usabilityof the remix OS because the rom perfectly supports both keyboard and mouse it basicallymake it way closer to thedesktop the cursor is blue and it's shaped like this it's small and works perfectly forthesituation what I like is how i can use the scroll wheel anywhere in the romswitching between languages on the keyboard is flawless the only problem I have when using therom this way is that i have to keep resizing every.

single app i have open and in phone mode ifthere is a feature to snap the apps on the side like you can do on windows thatwill make this a whole lot better other than that I really have no problemusing it you can literally use two apps at the same time like this did I tell you they even thought abouttaking screenshots better and it is better you can resize where to take thescreen shots before you take it and for a bigger screen like a tablet this is aperfect way to share what's on your screen now i'm going to talk about fewminor things before i wrap this video up i wish there is a built-in flashlight I'm probably the only one who likes to usea flashlight on the tablet but i do like every day the power button on the right top cornerof the notification pull down when you press on it it shows an option topower off and reboot just like an desktop and finally thewallpapers if you guys haven't noticed the wallpapers look amazing and theycome with this rom all the ones that comes with looks crispy except for this one thanks for watching my video we areactive on instagram and twitter as well so make sure to check us out there stay tuned for the review on the remixOS on a pc coming up next month and i'll see you guys in my next Post thankyou guys. have a good day.
